Who am I, where do I go and how much time have I left?
are the basic questions within the artistic process in the new dance production „timeline“.
How can differente generations meet? How they exchange experiences and benefit each other?
What is the meaning of “intergenerational”?
Berliner Choreographer Nadja Raszewski answered these questions together with 6 professional dancers between 17 and 80 years.
The individual experience of time is as special as the dancers involved in this production. The ensemble offers a variety of dance experiences, perspectives on dance history, aesthetical imprints and professional carrers.
Leanore Ickstadt (*1938) is educated and influenced by dance legends as Mary Wigman, Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey and José Limon. She founded TanzTangente in 1981. As a dancer and choreographer she was one of the main acteurs developing the contemporary dance scene in Berlin.
Iris Richter (*1944) was a Ballett Solodancer in the Hamburger Opera, working withb choreographers and performers like George Balanchine, John Cranko and Marcel Marceau. For many years she educated kids and youngsters in dance. Since 2003 she is managing director of the TanzTangente.
Emma Lusena Ash (*2001) is following her call as a professional dancer since she is 6 years old. She is spending her whole freetime in dance classes, dance workshops, in dance festivals.She is a dancer of the TanzTangente youth company CeWe 24.
Inbetween these generations move the dancers Sunia Asbach (*1988), Camilla Przystawski (*1992), Christina Wüstenhagen (*1989). They are samplers, researchers, explorers. Educated in contemporary dance, Ballett, Hip Hop, Martial Arts and dance education they do not only sample dance styles, but als the story of their dance colleagues throughout all generations involved.
The choreographer Nadja Raszewski (*1963) has life long experiences in making connections between different generations. She doesn´t accept akzeptiert tabus and clichés including intergenerational aspects.
