Structure in Chaos(Notion Obedience) is a movement philosophy that questions the body’s journey through ever evolving space time. The intersections between thinking and doing that demonstrates temporalities and dismantles the linear idea of being or even beginning or what is, can or cannot be movement.
The Notion invites the dancer into the African aesthetic of movement and thinking that re-enforces community with self and the collective. The unseen that influences the seen, the once known space that has been forgetting and a time before this times that we were blessed.
The movement explores textures from many disciplines with a base of traditional dance fusion from Nigerian movement and from masters who are constantly investigating the relationships of decolonized bodies. It’s a re-membering of ourselves lost in time. A contribution to life. A relationship with all manifestations of being in the body.
The Goal of the workshop is to inspire a new together. One that discover self and accepts the collective.
We will create hotspots of connection
We will think about the forgotten
We will mend our relationship with movement
We will start again.
